What are your top ten favorite bands?
Wow, 10 bands… that’s wayyyy too much. You can’t really have 10 favorite bands. Well I mean, you could have a top 10, but once you get to like 7,8,9 I bet you wouldn’t know too much about those bands. I like a lot of the pop punk. I guess it’s because pop punk is how I made the transition from hip hop/rap to alternative. So here’s my top 5 favourite pop punk bands:
1)
Blink 182
2)
Mugshot
3)
Size 14
4)
Ellegarden
5) Mest
2.
What are your top ten favorite CD’s?
I
think this is a better question than the last, because it’s easier to commit an
album to a list than a whole band.
You’ll notice that there’s nothing too new on this list - I think a good
album is one that you can listen to over and over again when you buy it, leave
it alone for a year or two, then want to listen to it again.
1)
Blink 182 – The Mark Tom and Travis Show
2)
Taking Back Sunday – Tell All Your Friends
3)
Puff Daddy and the Family – No Way Out
4) Joseph
and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat – Soundtrack
5)
Mugshot – Get Well Soon [EP]
6) Hot
Hot Heat – Make up the Breakdown
7)
Green Day – Dookie
8)
Ellegarden – Riot on the Grill
9) The
Pettit Project – cheeROCKracy
10)
Hellogoodbye – Hellogoodbye [EP]
3. If you could make a super
group, who would the band members be?
Frontman
– Justin Pierre (Motion City Soundtrack) – I’ve seen him live only once, but I
dig his moves. He’s quick with the arm
gestures. Also he can do snappy facial
expressions. Vocals-wise, his falsetto
is surpassed by only a few.
Rapper
– Andre 3000 – Every supergroup needs a rapper. Andre, although he may steal the spotlight, would be excellent in
a rock band. Remember Hey Ya? He’d also
double as a bassist because you can’t rap an entire song.
Guitar
- Ian D'Sa(Billy Talent) – because we’re gonna need a guy
with a nice coif.
Drums
– Travis Barker – just because he’s probably the most well recognized drummer
today and everyone loves him. It also
doesn’t hurt that he can play in 100 bands at the same time.
4. What’s the best advice you’ve
ever received from a fortune cookie?
“Your charm and courtesy will be advantageous to your goal.” I’m not too sure on what my goal is right now but I do know that I’m pretty damn charming… so it’s just a matter of time.
5. Republican or Democrat?
Canadian, but if I had to choose, it’d be Democrat – just because you guys have Ben Affleck. I’m so down with the Affmeister.
6. How do you find the time to
update the site everyday?
Have you ever seen the movie Serendipity? Time finds me… over and over again. Also not having a girlfriend or career really helps.
7. What’s your favorite movie?
TV show?
The summer is usually slim pickins for TV but this summer I would always look forward to watching “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, “Entourage”, and “Who Wants to Be a Superhero”. I’m really psyched for the upcoming season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm”. In terms of movies, I’m really into comedies but my favourite movie of all time has got to be “Grease 2”.
8. Do you have day jobs outside
of Band of the Day?
Nothing really worth mentioning but I am a Marketing student and I guess I’ll be doing something with that someday. Expect to see me on TV sometime next year or so though.
9. Where’s Waldo?
Right behind the g-spot.
10. Who would you like to see
next on Band of the Day?
There’s this band called Dino, Desi, and Billy that had a hit in 1966 called “I’m a Fool”. They were all sons of famous people and Billy went on to work with The Beach Boys. I'd definitely like to see them featured some time.
